What It Is

The Superpowered Score is the top-level output of the assessment — one composite number (0–100) built from four distinct layers that reflect what actually matters for AI readiness.

It's the "viral number" — the thing people share, compare, and track over time. But unlike a simple quiz score, it's built from methodology, not marketing.

Components

1. AI-First Mindset — 35%

HOW you think about AI. Your curiosity, your trust calibration, your willingness to experiment and iterate.

Why it's the biggest component: Mindset predicts growth better than current knowledge. Tools change every month — but if you think "AI-first", you'll always adapt.

2. Applied AI Skills — 30%

Not theory — practice: We don't test what you know about AI. We measure what you've done with it, how deep you go, and whether your skills create real value.

4. Technical Depth — 10%

WHAT you build with AI. Automations, agents, custom tools.

Only 10% — intentionally: This assessment is for everyone, not just developers. You can score 90/100 without writing a single line of code.

Methodology Notes

Layer 1 / Layer 2 Split

Every sub-competency score combines two sources:

Layer 1 (30%): Quick calibration from 25 forced-choice items (self-report)
Layer 2 (70%): Behavioral evidence from AI conversation (demonstrated ability)

The 70% weight on Layer 2 reflects that mindset and skills are best revealed through behavior, not self-report.

Score + AI Potential

The profile displays both Superpowered Score (current state) and AI Potential (growth ceiling — where you could realistically be based on your mindset, learning velocity, and untapped dimensions).

AI Potential is always ≥ current score. Derived from:

Mindset Index — high curiosity + openness = high ceiling even with low current skills
Learning Velocity — how quickly patterns are adopted (inferred from Layer 2)
Peak Dimension — strongest superpower hints at what’s possible across others
Self-Perception Gap — large L1–L2 gap + strong mindset = untapped potential

Display logic (adaptive):

Top 20%: AI Potential NOT shown on card — actual score is the flex
Below 20%: AI Potential replaces the percentile as the motivating element
In paid report: Always shown alongside the score for all users

Reframing: “Score 43 · AI Potential 91” turns a low score into an aspirational statement. The user doesn’t share “I got 43” — they share “I’m an AI Navigator with Potential 91.”

Self-Report Inflation Detection

"Your self-perception in [dimension] is stronger than what your described practices show. This could mean untapped potential — you know what good looks like but haven't fully applied it yet."

How We Assess It

In the Free Assessment (5–10 min)

25 forced-choice items (Layer 1 only)
Each item pits two positive statements against each other
+1 to chosen dimension, 0 to unchosen
Raw scores normalized to 0–100 per dimension
Output: Initial Superpowered Score based on Layer 1

In the Full Assessment (25–35 min)

Layer 1 (same 25 items) + Layer 2 (AI adaptive conversation)
Language analysis + Observable Differentiators scored holistically
Domain-specific scenarios feed the Application Index
Final score: weighted combination of all components

Technical Depth scoring: Exact calculation formula needs defining
AI Potential calibration: Formula defined above. Needs validation with pilot data — ensure AI Potential feels aspirational but credible (not always 90+).
Minimum viable score: Currently set at 8 scored responses for Full score reliability
Re-assessment cadence: Every 6–12 months. Visual change tracking?
